Hmmmm.......did i miss a little thing called Christmas? Surely it hasn't already been and gone??
Sitting here writing this little post, I truly cannot believe that Christmas has been and gone and the new year has already arrived - what happened?
It's been a strange end to the year for me and not quite what I had organised but it's taught me that you can't control anything and that you just have to go with the flow starting with finishing work on the Thursday before Christmas without the usual frantic running around that normally comes hand in hand with that time of year. It just didn't feel right, and in fact, it didn't feel like I had closure to the year at all as suddenly I was attending our firms Christmas party and then it was all over. I was on holidays.
Heading up to Healesville for a little 'get away' before the family formalities, day one saw us stopping at a little winery for a yummy lunch. What a fantastic start to the holiday, or so we thought, until a couple of hours later I was hugging the toilet bowl. Hmm....not such a great start actually.
Unfortunately this meant that my idea of popping out to coffee shops, wineries and antique stores along with the prawns and cheese platter (and bubbles) I had planned for Christmas eve all got pushed aside and replaced with dry toast, black tea, my pillow and the couch. Although I have to say, it was very relaxing - forced relaxation.
Feeling better for Christmas day, but still not 100%, we headed to my sister's for a seafood feast of oysters, prawns and whole snapper cooked on the BBQ. Some of my favourite foods sitting right in front of me and me not being able to indulge......I know I was hoping not to over indulge this year, but this was ridiculous.

And the pièce de résistance - the white Christmas Melbourne experienced in the form a freak hail storm which changed all plans for the afternoon/evening.
